Word game · How to play
Decode It
Crack the saying from its first letters before the clock runs out. If you grew up hearing it, you already know it.
- 2 or more players
- 15 to 30 minutes
- Ages 10 and up
- 60-second turns
What you need
Two or more players and the app on one phone. Split into two teams for pass-the-phone play, or play every person for themselves in a room.
How to read a card
Each card shows the first letter of every word in a saying, like WGFAH. Your job is to say the whole saying. That one is "We got food at home."
Pass the phone
- One player from the team holds the phone. That's the clue giver.
- Tap Start. The clue giver reads the letters out loud and gives hints without saying any word in the answer.
- When the team says the saying, tap Got it. To pass on a card, tap Skip.
- The turn ends after 60 seconds. Pass the phone to the other team, and a new clue giver takes over each turn.
Everybody joins
- The letters show on the host screen, and everybody types guesses on their own phone.
- Close counts. Small typos and missing words like "the" are accepted.
- A hint appears when 20 seconds are left.
